yes gas (not gasoline) conversions are available in SA. It does come cheaper than petrol/diesel. Have to go to gas outlets, but best would be for a company to buy gas in bulk and use it on their own cars. But gas prices have also risen. NB - if too many cars use it, the gas will be taxed higher i.e. like petrol. Cry

Morning Guys

I drive a 1.4 Getz and yes I agree, it is not the most economical on fuel, but it is not the worst either. About 15km/l on open road and 12km/l city. I load my bike in my car every day within minutes, I take my front wheel off though

With all the features I think it is a nice value for money car.

Diahatsu Sirion, part of Toyota for years now. 1300 vvt or 1500 vvt Yaris motor. ABS, EBD, Aircon etc. R100,000 new. At leaset 480km on a tank. Seats fold completely flat, I can get my bike in with just the front wheel off and its a 58.

The biggest regret I have is trading in my Jazz.  I used to load up three MTB's in the back upright.  it has the strap attachments for tie-downs and the car's back seats lie flush with the floor when folded down (no need to take a tent to the 24hr, just remember to load the mattress).

Oh, and I got about 5l/100k's open road driving.  Awesome car.

If we're ever in the position to buy cars again, I'm getting my fiancee (will be wife by then) the Jazz. I tested the 1400 CVT, and it is an amazing little car. I love how it drives, how versatile it is, and that gearbox is a gem! The power it puts out is also very impressive. Love those little cars!

I am not the biggets Honda fan (good cars but not my cup of tee), but got into a Jazz the other day and I have to say I was pretty impressed with what I saw.  Have not driven it ... yet.  But looked very practical.

We've got a Caddy delivery van here at work and man I want that thing. It is so perfect for bike mobile.

I'm a VW fan so if the choice was up to me, that would be the one I would go for.

I dislike VW by a fair amount, but I must say if it's a business mobile/bike transporter the caddy would be great.

I drive a Chevy Spark and I can fit 2 x MTB's (if i put the backseat down, or I can fit any size road bike on the back seat, and only removing the front wheel!!!Thumbs%20Up

It's one of the cheapest cars on the market and I get about 17 - 21km p/l!!! (and believe me, I'm not one of those ladies that normally stick to the speed limit!!!!LOL)

I am very happy with my VW Jetta 5.  Ok, on this topic is not a small car but for my cycling purposes it works well.  Can load two road bikes and the wheels plus some luggage in the boot.

Remaining of the topic, but also you won't believe what you load inside a golf 5 Big%20smile.  Since I wont buy anything other than a hatchback, so much more practical than sedan and handles better and amazingly amount of space. We decided between this and a corolla and the golf is bigger in all aspects besides the corolla being 20 cm longer ( keeping in mind it's a sedan ! )

Go for a bakkie or a hatch Peter is my opinion
