Men's 4 x 100m Heat 1: After leading against the USA, we drop the baton at the final change over. But so did the USA! In fact only 4 of the 8 teams finished. Chaos!

 

And apparently, if the BMX track isn't dry tomorrow, they go on points scored in the quarterfinals to determine the medals. Sifiso would be fifth...

Saw Maludzi's race, it looked like he stopped running with about 50 meter to go

 

If they apply that ruling in the BMX, it will be so sad, because I think Sifiso is in with a real chance

Why should rain be an issue? The sport is after all called bicycle motocross!!!!

Think the name needs to be updated. BMX it was back in the 70s, but now it's changed. All the big berms are tarred now...

 

I'm not sure why they don't have the track indoors. If a sport can be that affected by the weather, why have it outdoors? I expect that will be on the list of improvements for London 2012.

More chaos on the track. US women drop the baton in their 4x100m heat. All the medallist countries in the men's 4x100m from Athens are out! 6 of the 16 men's teams were DQed. If SA hadn't erred, we'd have had a shot at a medal!

sure its not what you guys want to hear but racing has been postponed

today due to rain. So lets hope that rain stops and the track dries out

in the next day, if it is not dry for tomorrow then positions will be

decided on the times in the last quarter finals, if that happens the

positions will be as follows

In a sport where time is irrelevant, it's a bit ridiculous!

 

Just asked Sifiso's manager what's the latest and he says all the riders want to race. Says after clearing a bit earlier, it has started raining steadily again! Says a final decision will only be taken tomorrow.

Maybe there are issues with equipment and/or officials being needed at both the BMX and MTB, because when they moved the BMX to Friday they also moved the ladies MTB from Friday to Saturday.
