In 95 we rented our house out for the Rugby World cup and made a killing off the out of country folk. People will pay so let them.

At least in Japan you will get service in line with the price you are paying' date=' unlike the WP where you get crappy, slow, lippy service from a wannabe actor masquerading as a waitron.[/quote']

Better than some Nigerian crackseller or some Primadona pretty boy who finances his Tag watch to look cool in "Jozi" who is waitering as his 2nd job to pay he watch off. JHB is full of them.

Nuff said. Now you all know why the argus is a rip-off.

I take it you havent cracjed the holy grail of the Argus and done under 3hrs and that is why you so Anti-Argus OR is it cause your monthly payments on your Tag watch (so you look cool in Jozi" are to expensive and you have to waiter as a 2nd job and cant afford to come down?

Or is it both??

To me its really isnt expensive atall. People are moaning about joining PPA' date=' its like what? R200 or so a year and they hold races and without them we wouldnt be racing so to me it seems like it goes hand in hand.

Maybe if we bought less fancy gadgets on our bikes and trained harder it wouldnt be so expensive? To race a local MX race in the cape is R360 entry for 1 class and additoinal R200 for the 2nd class. To get your bike preped for a race and petrol/food etc you looking at close to R4000 per race and you race up to 2 locals a month and a National costs you close to R9000 to do up country and if you ride the premier classes your heats are 20min long and you ride between 2 and 4 heats day.

Cycling costs nothing to race you should be greatfull its so cheap.

with all due respect this is quite a different sport and not really applicable...

i agree the price of entry fees are still reasonable in CT. but let see what the increase will be come Spring season. my complaint is the fixed cost a cyclist must pay to ride as a licensed club member in the ppa league. ppa have also expanded the criteria to ride league ie a - f seeded riders qualify as opposed to a - c seeded riders of a year or so ago. have the ppa now realised that "leagues" are income generating without having an additional expense attached

yay yay yay

thank you

somone see's the light, i posted on a similiar matter a while ago..

why as wp cyclist should we pay an extra R1000 +- a year as an "administration" expense or whatever you want to call it. No other province does or do they?So basically we are funding a middle man... the PPA

We don't have any type of league here in the Eastern Cape. The closest we have to that is the Masters and Ladies Racing season. For a mere R400.00, we get 18 or so fully organised races per year that caters for approx 150 -200 racers at a time.

What I'm trying to say is that if M&L can organise all these events for only R400 per year, then yes, you are being ripped off.

These races are really well organised with marshalls, traffic officials, sweeper vehicles, paramedics and even a King of the Mountains jersey on offer.

Fair enough bt cycling is cheap to race/ride or compete in. If you moaning over R2000 fo the year then you need to look at another sport.

TAG?? Are you still in the dark ages pal? Patek Phillipe sets the minimum standard in horological requirements within the financial hub of SA!!

Yep, Tag is so last millennium. Like Delgado says, it's Patek Phillipe and Andemars Piguet that keep our Nigerian cracksellers and Primadonna pretty boys waiting tables in Jozi. Why aim low?

if you are a licensed rider in CT - basically have to belong to a club of your choice, who is affiliated to WPCA, have a CSA license. thats where it should end but on top of all that you have to be a member of ppa, to ride in their licensed race you have to pay like a joining fee for your race numbers and then you must still pay to enter each race. wierd.

You won't recognise it. Construction everywhere! Not just townhouse complexes, but entire suburbs pop up within months. Oh, if only we had a river, a coastline or a mountain to curb the sprawl.
