3P10' date=' Me and six tandem pairs would have most likely bashed his teeth out!!!!!!![/quote']

No, you would have followed him to where he stopped and confronted him. M would have started the talking (attempting to keep the rest of you at bay), but when he swung a punch at her, the rest of you would have sorted him out.

If that is the way things happened, then that is the way it should be reported.

Kimberley: So why OK for you but not anyone else?? Boy am I glad you do not stay in SA, it would not do having you give us other cyclists a bad name by your violent and aggressive behaviour or would it be different in your case because your reaction would have been in self-defence and not pre-meditated?? Perhaps you should consider becoming an "ex-cyclist"?

Instead of bashing his teeth out, perhaps turning the other cheek might be a more appropriate response?

This post has now become a "let us bash Big H for his high moral standards" posting. I will not tolerate that..... bye!!!!!!

Very clear and simple Domenic..... the name of cyclists has been done irrepairable harm. Every motorist now sees us as revengefull and murderous people who laaik to harm an "innocent" Oupa. The Oupa drives a 3 ton metal monster and I ride a tandem that weighs 22 kg' date=' with my wife on the saddle behind me. I fear for her and all you people who refuses to see the wrong behind this whole incident. Two wrongs have never ever made a right.

PS according to responses on this messageboard I am not alone in feeling this way..... I may be the most tenacious by answering all these posts.

Big H....I'm with you on this one all the way 100%. It's the mindset created in motorists that can turn against us. You will see from most of my posts that this what I believe strongly about. I often see cyclists behaving in a ill disciplined manner and when you dare raise it the response makes one out to be a traitor.....which is not the case. or the point.

In this instance, it is the point. It is as wrong to beat somebody up as it is to falsely accuse somebody of doing it. On the balance of evidence, the cyclists are being falsely accused in this instance and BigH is committing the second wrong (which will never make a right).

WOW!! I read this post on page 1 when it started, then decided to rather train. I get back and it's on p25!(I'm tired now...) Good going with nothing!

After reading all the well informed posts, I'm now ready to air my view........

It's pretty stupid to play chicken with a large metal object speeding towards you. It's VERY stupid to try your luck with 40 fit people, no matter what your age!

Secondly. By stating "someone has taken the law into their own hands", you first have to accept that the law is in the hands of the police/state. This is not the case in SA. In SA if you serve justice, that is what they did. Nothing more, nothing less.

If more motorcar drivers get sorted out by cyclists, they will stay well wide of us and keep their hands away from the hooter.

I do not want motorists to think I'm a vengefull person that will harm oupa if he can't behave, I WANT THEM ALL TO BE SCARED!!

If I catch them at the next trafic light they're in deep sh#!t!

YOU SHOULD STAMP YOUR PRESENCE AND AUTHORITY ON THE SUROUNDING TRAFIC. THEY MUST KNOW WHERE YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU WANT THEM TO DO.

Do not sit and wait for them to decide what happens with you, you decide for them. Enforce your presence. If they disregard you, confront them.

They need to be more scared of us, than we are of them.

Serve justice.

I LOVE JUDGE DREDD!!!!

Really? Seems you were quite happy to confront some guy after he apparently tried to run you down and would also be prepared to beat some guy up if he clipped you or your wife with his wing mirror whilst you were out cycling but the minute someone else tries that, you jump on your high horse and sl*g them off to no end?

The point I was trying to make is that until all the facts are known, none of us are really in a position to comment and/or make judgement.

The truth is that there are many cr*p cyclist and motorists out on the road.
