Andrew is about 5% off his peak at Nationals this year.  He hasn't done a threshold test in a while, but based on his RPE for this race and the numbers, I'd put him at around 330w FTP.

Andrew's avg power output for the race was 225

watts. Is that not a bit low? Or is the other stats more relevant to his efforts?

 

The reason why I am asking is my avg power output for the lost city race was 248 watts and I had a swak day and cruised along at my own pace.

 

I am new to this and ordered the power training book, damn amazon/SA postal service taking forever !@!

Ok I tell you what, lets base this series on weight, lets say 90KG. So all riders have to weigh 90kg before the race starts, No trips to the loo after the official weigh in, you then get a little rucksack with your weight to carry so we can all weigh the same, If you weigh more than 90kgs without any extra weight, well then you are a fatbastard and can do with the extra suffering caused by your excess weight Big%20smile
