I have not yet received any form of confirmation of my membership via the post or email, although I am getting their weekly newsletters. I have emailed them on 4 separate occasions asking about my membership, I have yet to receive a response other than at automated one stating that I will be contacted shortly.

I have not tried calling them as I thought email was an acceptable way to make enquiries.

Anyone else think the PPA suck big time?AngryAngryAngryAngry

PPA, formally known as WPPPA, is a organisation created to redistribute wealth to the western cape.  See your membership fee, as a donation towards the efforts of the South to attempt to beat the North.

You have been duped.

I cannot stand PPA. tried to do a race in CT last year, phoned the organiser, phoned PPA to make sure I can race licensed vets. No problem. But I get there and get seeded ZZ group, big stories and get told 'some of our unseeded are quite competitive' ya, whatever, why did I buy a license if not to race as a licensed rider. And why was it OK until race day, for which I got up at 4:30 am for a ZZ group start at 08h30...

As far as I am concerned, PPA is a money-grubbing organisation which doesn't give a hoot about you. Or me.

I think that the PPA is a fantastic organisation, never had problems with communication get my numbers in the post promptly, get my queries responded to quickly and efficiently. Never had a hassle. They do a great service for reasonable cost. The only grip I have with them is more and more of their sanctioned events are more expensive than the standard PPA rates.

My advice to you is pick up the phone and speak to them, they propably have to route your email to the correct person who is dealing with a big volume of queries.

They are part of the Winning Time/www.cyclingnews.co.za consortium.

I don't know if I'd go so far as to accuse them of sucking big time just because they haven't responded to an email or two.

However, I believe the consortium is inferior to the Cycle Lab/Champion Chip camp, which has superior race entry and timing systems.

The name of the cartel is actually PPA/CSA/Winningtime/www.cyclingnews.co.za/ARGUS/Buycycling

They have a deadly grip on everything cycling in RSA and tend to get verrrrry mean when anything goes contrary to their "vision"/moneymaking criteria.

Your definition of 'shortly' obviously differs with theirs...

PPA is incompetant.

Lots of money with little plans onhow to spend it in a way that gives back to the community.

Close em down.

And then what ? You offering to start a new organisation to run the majority of the races in WC and competently hold the biggest race in SA ?

What are your plans ?
