SPECIALIZED ANNOUNCES FAT BOY CRIT--MARCH 23

In a trend that should be followed by more road promoters, the organizers of the Morgan Hill Grand Prix have announced that they will extend the program to include a Fat Boy Crit. The Fat Boy was added to the format to accommodate requests from mountain bike pros who were looking for a pre-Sea Otter Classic leg sharpener.

It all takes place on a winding circuit in downtown Morgan Hill, California. The layout incorporates nine turns and a savage climb into a course of just over one mile. Entry rules for the Fat Boy Crit mandate that the bicycle must look like a mountain bike. There must be a suspension front fork, flat handlebars without bar ends, and tire width must be a minimum of 1.25 inches. Riders with NORBA Pro, Semipro and Expert licenses are invited to enter, along with UCSF CAT 1 and 2 license holders. Men, women and juniors in these categories will race together.

Besides the two big mountain bike names who have already committed, Sara Bresnick-Zocchi, of the Ford Cycling Team, and the women's Victory Brewing Team are also expected to enter.

For more information call the event hotline at (650) 302-6310; www.morganhillgrandprix.com

I'm sorry I missed it, however I was sick as a dog.  Went home and fell asleep, woke up when the Mrs arrived back from Kyalami at about 7. Was back in bed at 9h30. Feeling a lot better today.

Thanks TroyEmbarrassed. What else was I going to do? I really wanted to ride, but couldn't, so the next best thing to do, was to take pics. Can't sit around doing nothingLOL

(shhhhh.... everyone thinks I'm taking pics, but I am really gathering info on how to do a crit, and to study the enemy?)

Hi all. Thanks to traffic' date=' I wouldn't have made it home and back in time, so decided to take some pics again. No one had a camera for me to use, so I used my cell phone. Out of 50 odd pics, very few came out worth posting. I tried my best to resize and cut where I can, so here goes...

There is something very unfreindly in the air at the Dome, every Crit to date I've been on Sinumax and antihistamines for 2 or 3 days after wards. Normally start sneezing by the time I get home.

That's interesting, Sonic always has difficulty breathing at the Crit too.
