QED: this is the type of tosser I was talking about! Thanks for pitching up liquid! So: cycle shop owners are not allowed to make money and drive nice cars? Or send their kids to decent schools?Does it also burn your arse when you go to Pick 'n' Pay and think of Ackermans living in nice houses? Or to Toys 'r' Us and you go green when you see Issy on a nicer bike than yours.Grow up. If the guy has the balls to go out and run a business' date=' don't begrudge him the benefits...[/quote']

Sh*t. How naive can I get! Thanks for clarifying the situation Liquid.

There was me thinking that the reason he smiles was because he genuinely is pleased to see the customer and wants to make them happy as well, thoroughly enjoys what he does, and .... because he is doing what many cyclists would give their left ball for, besides make a successful living as a pro- to leave their stuffy corporate lives and sh*tt* jobs and run their own successful bicycle shop.

PS- its very grey and cloudy here in Mozambique. Would you please stand up Liquid. Many thanks.Ying%20Yang

Man' date=' I am getting tears in my eyes.  This is all getting way too emotional for me....[/quote']

Almost a parody of the Merchant of Venice where Shylock praises Antonio instead of scheming to eke out his revenge by ruthlessly demanding as payment a pound of Antonio?s flesh!!!!!!!

smiley36.gif Xinavane ? You part of Paula's husband cycling club ?

Yep Xinavane, but not my own cycling club. I ride with the Mozambique Cycling Club, based in Maputo. We have a bunch of hotshots, including sub 3 Argus riders and one oke who's doing the Epic. Only thing is getting to Maputo to train at 06:30 I leave here at 4:30 on a 2 hour drive to get there on timeUnhappy. Tomorrow is a public holiday and we're doing a 100K's.

Now to stop hijacking my own thread-

Talking about this beng an emotional thread- its nowhere near the emotional levels of some of the stuff that was being posted on the price fixing thread. On that thread you could see what emotional responses do with respect to good objective judgement.  Some people had the good grace to admit that they were hasty, to the point of retracting their positions. Like they say, it takes more strength of character to say you're sorry than not, and some okes showed their strength of character.

Now to stop hijacking my own thread-

We've now got the Price Fixing thread onto "Motivational Posters", so let's try this here:

Anyone read a good book recently? I've just finished Terry Pratchetts "Reaper Man". Not once was a bicycle mentioned!
