this is quite a little love triangle..

Lets keep the dirty family laundry out of the professional job shall we.

Wees aint hillybilly's. We dont gif the bloke a snot klap soma becuase he did chirip my bruver.

Lets all play nicely.

btw, how the heck does David still occupy a seat on CSA and PPA? Surelyu there is a conflict of interest? Not a dig at David cos I think he manages it well, but the situation is not ideal.

Agreed, you should check the rest :)
This is sport, and the nature of sport is that it mostly invites the weak, since the strong aren't interested. Mark my words: most people involved in sports volunteerism has something odd going on with themselves.
on the CSA board, they're either in for selfgain, or for self-interest, or "for the love of the sport," or for genuinely sound reasons. I am stil trying to figure who is who :) (I am not on the board, but I know why I am in cycling.)

Volunteerism or simply volunteer work is misinterpreted. PPA sells a seat on EXCO as a think tank, but then expect the place holder to work like an office worked for no pay. Sorry maar my baas betaal my om petrol jokkie te wees.

The system is designed to fail.

If Exco is a think tank, setting direction then there needs to be dedicated resources withoin the office to implement the actions and direction set by EXCO. It does not work that way.

CSA can't set direction because it does not have enough influence yet. It needs to buy influence but it has no money.... conundrum

I'll have a beer with Balhare.

The alsations was a famous moment in SA cycling. Imagine we had the HUB in those days.

Chrish

Who you are and where you come from , I would not know ,and honestly could not give a rat's ass..,but if you know the Lemmers, you would definetely not mention either their names in the same sentence as "chicken s..t"...Would love to know how much you have done for SA cycling , maybe you can post some of your past and recent successes....

Hendrik and Carinus are the reason that many a schoolboy , and plenty of students started to cycle...I was one of them...If you know anything about them , you would know that they usually back up what they say...

Carinus had a wonderfull saying ' DONT TELL PEOPLE ABOUT YOUR PLANS , TELL THEM ABOUT YOUR SUCCESSES", I eagerly await yours.Carinus is a incredible passionate cyclist, and has never been the one to follow the main stream...does that make him a bad ambassador for cycling.., does one have to have a certain hairstyle to mannage something you have dedicated your whole life to..???..Is Hendrik being a chicken s..t for not wanting to put Carinus in a bad situation..

I can tell you that what these two men have done for the sport far outweighs , your perception of what they have done to the sport.

I can name you a bunch of very tallented cyclist that quit this sport because of previous management ...Ask Rene Duijker how he was treated by a husband and wife combination at a track meeting one night because he wore an ear ring ...Can promise you now nobody will be harrased over crap like that while carinus is in charge...it is cycling ..it is suppose to be fun ...with passionate people with visions of the future that controll it...not ex army generals and stiff upper lip regiment sargeant majors.

Yes , both the Lemmer brothers , can not be called quiet and withdrawn, but their contribution to cycling has been enormous and far outweighs anything negative.

Lem , Latrinus...you have my vote ...thanks for the countless hours and effort both of you have put into cycling...Latrinus..thanks for making it a colourfull ,hip sport..stay passionate..it is on passion that this wonderfull sport was built....

Talk about missing the point. What I have done for cycling is irrelevant to this situation.

A public attack and insult was made on Dave Bellairs and when it came to substantiate it the attacker declined, citing politics and his Brothers job. At that point either an apology, explanation or a correction of facts would have done the job. None of these was forthcoming.

That's Chicken Sh*t in my book no matter who you are or what you have done for cycling in South Africa..

So you have appointed yourself as defender of the one that was publicly attacked , by publicly attacking and insulting Groot Lem as " chicken s..t".......very noble of you....!!!

Is this personal...or are are their other issues you have with GL.....?...am I somehow missing the point again..??

Dramatic expression aside, ChrisH has a point! If one attacks wide-mouthedly he should also be proud enough to clarify his points when the attacked responds (and this even in a very kind way!) and not just walk away.

BB: Can I have a coke and nachos with cheese dip pls?

Oh ..point taken....Has it ocuured to anyone that DB's mail is is taken for gospel and that GL's is not...it is very easy to turn around and say very politely .." oh I never said so , and i thought you were wonderfull at what you did blah , blah , blah"...that will take the wind out of anybody's sails...what bothers me is that it is DB's word against GL's word and suddenly GL is being made out as a groot bek, chicken s...t etc.......were any of you present when this happened between GL and DB to verify that DB is talking the truth...???...why is GL the immediate villian and DB the victim..

The point that I was trying to make in my mail to Chrish,is that both these guys do and say what they want , and it rubs people up the wrong way sometimes...Carinus gets made ot to be a criminal rastafarian ...Hendrik a grootbek , and a chicken poop....,but what they have done for cycling in a positive way has been fantastic...and I dont see many mails being put out there to commend them both....

I've had experience with how Carinus handles tricky, politically and emotionally charged situations. He remains calm and encourages everyone to chill out and relax. Don't know Groot Lem, but on the basis of what I know of CL, and what I see CL doing to try get CSA working for the cyclists and not against them, he has my support.

I have never met the man, so no it's not personal other than I take exception to bad manners.

He made the attack in the public realm so as a member of that public he expressed it to I took exception to how he went about it.

If he wants to be a toffee he must expect to be chewed.

ChrisH You are being a bit of a hypocrite calling GL names though...especially chickensh*t, that's a bit harsh. Oh well, like you I am getting involved in something which has sweet F-A to do with me. Ignore this post! Ignore it!
