Guys, living nearby and having seen the park take shape over the last few months, I can tell you that a LOT of work has gone into it, and it is not going to be 'riding around in circles', at all. There are going to be challenges that very few will be capable of negotiating, and there will be lots of interesting drops and climbs etc etc. I can't wait to borrow a BMX and relive a bit of my childhood on that track that they have built.

I will definitely immediately be buying a 20 pass ticket...and I can't wait!

Here we go again.

So it's pretty simple in my mind. If you can't afford to ride there, then don't. If you buy multi-unit cards it's quite affordable. The idea of the R50 is so you can try the park once to see if you like it, and if you do then you buy a unit card.

For me it's worth paying a bit more to ride a purpose-built park. Nice bermed corners, purpose-built obstacles, and one-way trails (big bonus!). But that's me.

Bla' date=' bla, bla

?There will be a parking lot, a Seattle coffee shop and a bike shop, and we will also have development bicycles on loan for underprivileged children in Diepsloot and other areas, so that they can be introduced to the sport,? said Mclean. The park will be opened to the public in November.

I don't know where they will be getting their R50's from then.

Had some fun on the bmx track on the preride and I can tell you it's awesome! It's designed so you have a "kiddies/normal people" route and a "only for Sifiso route." The pump track will also make for great training.

Check out www.cultcycling.co.za  -  there is a section on the Park. I, for one will be there, cash in hand. Also have a look at the plate options on the CultCycling site - better than 20 ride passes.

We've had this price debate already. Giba Gorge which is on a bigger piece of land and much more scenic (waterfall included) with all the same facilities (Cycle Lab too, and awesome non-branded coffee shop) is half the entry fee of Fourways. But that's because Gautengers are willing to pay ridiculous prices!

Mmm, and the single track, technical sections BMX track and pump tracks at northern boring farms are far superior too i suppose. I for one will be 1st in line for an annual membership to the new park and will be quite happy for the trails to be less cluttered with technically impaired MTBaaikers bitching about paying for a quality, secure, purpose built place to hone their skills and provide gauteng with the variety our sport desperately needs...
