Chrispy Posted October 31, 2008 Share Reason not to have it in March - its at the peak of track season.Reason to have it in June - its in the middle of road season. June is the middle of road season? Maybe in Europe. Why does the SA season mirror Europe? I never get that. Track is meant for winter when the weather is bad and road for summer. Those Aussies apparently are smarter than us. They get it' date=' we don't.[/quote'] According to UCI rules all nations must have their champs on the same weekend, normally end of June. But you can ask for a different date like most Southern Hemisphere nations does.
shadowchaser-d Posted October 31, 2008 Share I would prefer it to be in March, have always wanted to give SA's a bash but the winter months i find to hard to do decent training

It works. I know it doesn't rain in Gauteng in June, but it is miserable in the Cape and is it really the best time for nationals? What do the REAL pro's think? They should be the ones to ask as you want the stars to come out for this one. Not us wannabees and hasbeens.

Icycling Posted October 31, 2008 Share Yo Anton - where have you learnt to write such good English - you were the Afrikaans (Rooi Kop)kid in Canada - (I was your asst manager their) amongst other events. So are you really going to start racing again? Good luck with the training! For all you Hubbers I can assure you Antons schedule of result are quite true so show some respect! One of the biggest problems in Cycling over the past 15 years is that we have not had any local rider to admire like we did in the old days (Alan van Heerden, Willie Englebrecht, Andrew McLean ate). For the sport to grow even bigger we need more local super stars in cycling! Or maybe a the petrol increasing in price 5 fold!

Normally that goes with being humble and well mannered. Met die hoed in die hand kom jy ver in die land.
Comebackboy Posted October 31, 2008 Share Is Malcom not someone who is admired as a local super star?? As far as i can remember he is humble and well mannerd?? and no one can argue that he has done some impressive stuff on the local scene!!!
