I actually emailed the web developer of weathersa this morning and got a response almost immediately. Why not voice your opinions in writing....

I used to browse the site on my cell phone but now it uses up over 1 MB just loading the front page. They are apparently still working on the mobile version.

sidetrack. what mobile version you using otherwise?

if you want current wind in cape town/milnerton on your phone then knots.co.za is the coolest thing since twinzers

Got a Nokia E71. I'm now using Accuweather.com and it seems to work okay on most cell phones.

Dont know about the site, but I find the best method to check on the weather is "to look out my window". 100% accurate every time.Wink

I don't like all the new eye candy of the new site either.

Performance is however very good compared to the previous Java version.

The loss of the synoptic chart and radar images is a major step backwards.

I agreed with another poster voicing his opinion on the useless eye-candy on their forum, but our posts disappeared...

I am also trying accuweather.com at present. Integrates nicely with Firefox using the Forecastfox add-on.

I use the old site regularly, albeit just for simple stuff like max/min temps and rain forecasts.

Yesteday I decided to register on the new site and I'm still waiting for the confirmation email...!  Disapprove

Will just have to try again!

Perhaps your SPAM filter blocked the mail??

Try emailing the developers: saws [at] futureforesight.com

They used to be very responsive, but that was when only a few people were using the new site and their forum was not that busy. Give it a try, you never know.

I see the negative comments are flooding in now...

These guys seem to know what they are doing. Just unfortunate that the design they are implementing is so graphic intense, compromising functionality in the process.

I do like some of the features though, like the Google Earth part.

They should have saved all the graphical overlays for the Google Earth interface and left the rest as normal text tables.

Thanks, I do usually receive similar confirmation emails from other sites. If I haven't had a response today I will try contacting the developers, as you suggest.
