Ox, they aren't that bad.

I'd give those small triathlon's a go if I didn't swim like a rock.

What I might do is enter a relay team, I'll do the cycling.

If you want to know what it's like speak to my son, the 1st one he did eish I can actually show you the photos you can see how he improved as they went on.

You'll easily manage, there was a 74 year old guy that done them last year.

Oxman, you have to train more on your bike dude.

The reason you have to have these little "power rests" is purely from a lack of endurance. Your speed is good, your ability to sustain the speed is lacking. And THAT is only because your training is erratic.

Bliksem dude, if you are unfit and I struggle to keep up with you, imagine how you can give birdman a run if you are distance fit and can sustain that speed.

I told you, run longer distances and you will get your time per km down. C RE us! When I ran 64 min 15 k races, I used to run 40 to 80 k's a week and I was 20 years younger.

Training is the key to unlockyour petential.

It was dark so didn't see at the time' date=' when I got home the computer had the top end at 75 k's. There was a chubb armed response vehicle about three metres in front of me so he may be whacked - ironically he hit anchors.
[/quote']

Only one way to test this. We'll have to go down again. When you wanna try this? Long as I don't have to cycle up Camaro, all is well.

I eagerly wait to hear how S2L got his @ss out of bed at 5am to go ride down Comaro.

Ha!. Who said anything about getting out of bed an hour (or two) before mossie poep? Being on the road at 5 am in winter is never going to be on my agenda. (Only time I get out of bed that time of the Am is when I am on holiday in the KNP and I'm going game viewing.)

It's just uncivilised to get up before the sun anyway. 'sides, if  we gonna do that then I will meet Narco at the camera and I'll take a drive in the car, but I doubt I will see the flash 'cause I'll still be asleep.

Doesn't matter what time I get out of bed, I only wake up at 6h30 anyway.

Me & Muxman showed up for this morning's festivities & it was good to see the usual suspects from this thread.

Short Lido was v fast down the back section, frequently over 50kmh, tho' I hear they went up the steps at 25kmh. I wasnt there by then.

Cud say it was because of a puncture but that came after, really.

Anyway I was a bit derogatory last week about a noisy lady in the group who I now know is called Jackie.

I'd just like to say that she is a really nice lady who stopped & chatted while I fixed the puncture, chatted up the steps, chatted down the other side, saw her friends and shouted, caught them up and chatted & after that she chatted some more.

So any way, I think she's great, noisy, but great.

Jackie is very vociferous (Vocal) but she is "pleasant" vocal. I fnid that when she is in the bunch, it's a lot more fun. For example she waxed very lyrical 'bout GOv2.0's "Ferrari" and what a beatiful bike it is.

Moana on the other hand, is also vocal, although not as loud, and she just whinges and whines. Think next time she complains and I hear about it I'm going to ask her if she wants some cheese with that whine.

Joe Bond Low, are you refering to the lady that fell in love with GreyOwl's bike ? She 'pushed' S2L out of the way on Saturday just so that she could have a good look at the red Pinarello and yesterday she was at it again.

Wonder Woman, where were you on Saturday, I was even wearing clothes this time and you didn't show smiley36.gif

S2L, what happened to you on Saturday ?

And then where were you yesterday ?

You missed out bud, GreyOwl decided to pickup the pace yesterday (I think it was just to get away from his bike's new fan) but things seemed slower up the steps which gave me time to discuss important matters (Formula 1) with Nish4 .

Nuwbie, well done. An average of 35km/h is brilliant, soon you'll be riding in the A group.

I must say that all this cycling talk during the week is starting to pay off.

On Saturday's group ride I was managing pretty easily and often asked why the group was going slower than normal but everybody kept telling me that they were going at the normal pace.

And then yesterday I done my fastest training ride with an average of 32.4km/h over 50km.

I know I still need to improve (a lot) but at least I'm going in the right direction.

Now for Wednesday, where we meeting and where we going ?

I did invite Nish4 to join us.

Kid, you notice I'm very quiet about my weekends "efforts". If the big dawgs were riding at normal pace, then I have improved since last time but still not quite there. I manage to hang on past Walkerville this time and got dropped BIG TIME on that last hill past Boscos. And I was really trying hard too.

Those big dawgs have BIG teeth and they hurt me on Saturday. I had to go home and lick my wounds. Eish, they really klapped that hill and I thought at some stage that my bike was in reverse, until I realised that it doesn't have a reverse gear. Really? My bike has one and I found it Saturday.

When You guys turned to go to Henley, I went short with two other riders on Bianchi's.

One of them pretty much managed to keep the pace going and we got home PDQ. My avearge for the ride was a respectable 31.3 over the distance so I was reasonable happy.

Then reality kicked in and the pain started. Had to go and have a long nap.

Sunday, I was there dude, GO saw me and I was still had the toothmarks on my legs so I had to go back to the nursery and ride with the usual bunch of suspects.

They went really slowly and I only got frustrated. They were going to go for a 70 k loop and turned right on the bridge and I headed left up the steps. That was a really hard climb and I struggled to get to the top.

Legs are sharpish today but I think I have come down with a cold. Sneezed and sniffed my way through the reaminder of yesterday.

So, the plan for Wed is this. I meet Nuwbs at his place on Wed at 06h45. We ride to Bracken City and pick up Kid and leave here by latest 7am. Then we all head up Hennie Alberts, left on Michelle and meet GO at the traffic light (Camaro and Bellairs.)

We head up Bellairs, turn right into Klipriver and head up Butchers. Left into Columbine and Narco jumps on the bus. LEft just before Soutgate and down Lido hill, up the other side, through Walkerville and past either chees factory or Boscos. Back up the steps, and home again.

I guess that should give us about 90 k's. Nice LSD ride with a few hill accelerations and one or two intervalls thrown in for good pain. (I mean measure.)

Nish4 is more than welcome to jump in the bus. The more the merrier. I can invite one or two others as well.
