Mark my words - DC 2009 will be one feeding zone at +-100km possibly manned by PPA or another body with no back up vehicles on the road. If this does not work there might never be another DC. mdk5552008-11-24 12:28:39

hmmm... how would a PPA manned feeding zone work?

But yes, I agree 5 or 6 feeding zones is stupid. you only need 1. Hell. we all do the argus without stopping for food. why should we need to stop 6 times on a 200km route??

because the temperature rises and your need for liquids doesn't increase linear with the duration of the event.

also think of the 8 hrs plus riders. I'd say 2-3 zones should do the job.

....And just hope the PPA doesn't send the riders off on the wrong route and everyone misses the feeding zone completelyOuchOuchOuchWink

Do you know about negative feedback from the traffic authorities MK?

My perception was that the traffic seemed to flow better this year?  PPA do it better every year - starting blocks, the Bonnievale Bypass etc.

I agree with waterpoints at a) Montaque/Ashton & b)Bonnievale Cellar + c) the PPA waterpoint @ 190km.

PPA arrange dedicated pickup points at the coffee shops along the route with 2-4 PPA vehicles handling the transport of breakages to those.

NO personal backup via Tredoux pass should be allowed - they can go straight to Montaque/Ashton. Then from Drew they should/could take the gravel shortcut to Swellendam (there wasnt BMW's or Ferrari's doing support anyway)

Full motorbikes support for the top 15 teams based on seeding

Geesh....you guys can moan about stupid things!!! I want to see the guys moaning trying to organise a better DC. This is one of the events of the year that is actually well organised.

I went through almost 8 bottles. Feeding at 100km and 160km should do the trick!!
