So with all the bikejackings going on I bought myself pepper (maximum strength - used by NYPD), however looking at it it seems a bit puny to take this to a gunfight.

 

Maybe more suited to calm an angry motorist or subdue a rabbid pit-bull terrier.

but youwill get into trouble for that. Even if he attackes you with a weapon and drops is you must also stop attacking him. He is then unarmed and you can be charged with assault. Lovely laws that we have.

Sorry boot, but if some ne'er-do-well tries to scale my bike I'm gonna thump him with anything I can get my hands on, and leave him zip-tied together on the mountain. I'll call the cops and let them know where he is when I get home so the doesn't die of exposure, but no ways will I tell them who I am.

Why phone the police, just bury the f!@#$%r and use him for a jump or a berm on your next ride. At least then he will be giving back to cyclist what he spent years stealing.
