pastapouch Posted January 31, 2007 Share Haven't been there for a while. If it was 8 in the morning its Tiaan Rossouw and his gang, joined them a couple of times but they're a bit fast for me. Last Saturday there were people swimming with wetsuits and they said that they training for Ironman. I train for the Midmar at the moment and are doing 2km 3times a week. Also wondered about swimming in those dams sometimes, can be real smelly. Whats the worst thing anyone has swum into while training/ racing in a dam ? Large dead Carp was my biggest skrik !! moonlight Posted January 31, 2007 Share Quite a large bunch of the Krugersdorp Road Runners are training for the Midmar, they swim Tuesdays and Thursdays in the afternoon and Saturday mornings. AfreekduSoet Posted February 1, 2007 Share SwissVan, at GNT Champs I swam into a tree! Well, kinda thru it. Got the skrik of my life when all I felt was this very pointy branch in my ribs. Also, the water was so dark, you got blinded by the light each time you took a breath. Swam with a bunch at the cable ski dam in Midrand a couple of weeks back. Very nice dam to train in. moonlight Posted February 1, 2007 Share Cervelo, its from 16:30 and on Saturdays at 07:00. But after the Midmar they don't swim anymore. Some evenings I am to late to join them then I swim on my own I just put the car keys in a waterproof plastic bag and tuck it on the inside of the wetsuit/swimsuit. So far no trouble.
