Big H - I'm interested in trying Techniblock. I presume it is pharmacy-only' date=' who makes it?[/quote']

Yes it is chemist only..... I am sure Dischem has it in stock. It is made by Technikon Laboratories, tel number 011 - 674 1091. It is SPF 40, water resistant and odour free. Allows the skin to breathe. We even used it when snorkelling in moz and Malawi and did not burn.

As I said it was prescribed by my Dermatologist after we had to nuke a melanoma on my face. Fortunately it was not malignant but it left a scar.

I also suffer with skin cancer and have had numerous surgical operations to remove melanomas on my face, shoulders and back.

When I was young and invincible (or so I thought) I would go out running swimming or roasting in the sun for hours without protection, now unfortunately the "chickens have come home to roost" as it were and I am paying the piper.!

I havent used Techniblock, but use "XERODERM" also reccommended by the dermatologist also Pharmacy only and sometimes difficult to find, so buy a few tubes if you can, comes in 40 and 60 factor and its the only one I have used that dosnt irritate my eyes when applied.

Honestly, one needs serious protection to avoid skin cancer today, I apply the cream everyday, even if I am in the office, in the car whatever, its a small price to avoid melanomas.

Good Sunscreen is expensive, all I can say is dont skimp here, buy the best you can and use it liberally.

Watch this space!!! Currently testing a product which will help you with those red areas for when you have forgotten your sunblock amongst a whole range of other things.

I have been the test subject on may occasions going out to get sunburnt on purpose and the stuff works like a charm. No peeling and no soreness the next morning.

Skiing was in Veysonnaz, just a stones through from Verbier.  They speak funny French, but not that I would know.  Snow was awesome though and sunshine (almost) constant.  I miss it...

Yes, cycling in -7 is nuts, but we don't get enough snow here for skiing, so you can still go and ride your bike if you have enough layers on.   Plus the mud tracks are frozen, so it's really really fast!  Just don't miss a rut.  It will throw you and it hurts to fall.

BTW, as luck would have it it started to snow last night.  Took me three hours to get to work todayOuch  No winter tires, no snow chains, just like all the other motorists here...

Yes the idea is not to get burnt however as shown people do forget to apply sunblock at times. We are just filling that void in the market. The cream will not only be used for Sunburn but can also be used for a multitude of other applications as it contains a natural antibiotic.

Can't say to much more about it but will fill yuo guys in on the details once we have finished with the Government and its beauracratic cr@p

Yeah I know, just kidding - good luck getting a "Nappi code" and the relevant "skin approvals" for that - you gonna need big cahoonies and a very patient negotiator.Wink
