Yes they can be serviced and it should be done when the shifters have lost their "click." Up to that point nothing should be done to them.

 

Can any bike mechanic do this? I've seen bike mechanics who remove pedal bushings in a flat-jawed vice and who put loctite on spokes and who change the customer's chain and sprockets when the chain shows light between it and the sprocket and who remove grease from tapered press-fits and and and....

 

Do it yourself.

its real easy. My girlfriend can service the ergo levers. Just take pictures as you strip the shifter.

So.......you gf does the servicing....you do the stripping......and the "shifter" would be..............?Big%20smile

 

Seriously...

 

Leave the leavers until they do not click anymore and replace the springs.  Small little spring.....cost R20 and R100 to fit

northcliff cycles is where i'd take mine. mechanic there is really good!

 

These peeps are all in funny places like North West, Western Cape.....might be bit far for them just to get a spring Tongue
