Ok' date=' hate to admit it, but in the mist of all the excitement I had a blond moment!

Saturday 21st, wake up ready to ride, waiting at Waterstone since 6:50.

The place is deserted, no one around.

Check the hub on the mobile again, yep got the times right 7:00 Sat 21 no changes.

At 7:20, enough waiting, maybe you guys left earlier or are very late.

I am just gonna do the ride now anyway.

Just before Du Toits pass, spotted a banana peel, might mean there are cyclist ahead!

Nope! No luck.

Now having done a solo 85km to Franschoek, with plenty of time to think about what could have gone wrong, made a coffee stop, logged onto the hub again to check details and only then realized it was Sat 21 MARCH!!

1. Sir Lowry's Somerset West <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

2.  Some pass outside Grabouw (I dont know if this qualifies, everyone is always talking about 4 passes when doing this route?)

3.  Du Toits Pass before Franschoek

4.  Helshoogte into Stellenbosch

Oh sorry, no 3 is not called Du Toits Pass, the last river crossing before going up there, is Du Toits river.

Previous times I went up there was with Francois Du Toit and the name kinda stuck in my head!

21/03/2009

4 Passes - SW start (125km) 7:00 (prelim)

From Watestone Village (updated) we will go out over SIR LOWRY'S PASS' date=' turn left towards grabouw, go over VILJOENS PASS, just over theewaterskloof bridge we will turn left up and over FRANSCHOEK PASS and then outside Franschoek, we will turn left towards Pniel, past boschendal over HELSHOOGTE PASS and through stellenbosch back to SW on the R44.

4 Passes - Andrag Start (160-170km) 06:00 (prelim)

Will go through Kuilsrivier and meet the rest at Watestone Village (updated) and continue as above up to stellenbosch, were we will be  going back on the Klipheuwel and Bottelary Road.

Please advice were you will be riding and starting, so that we can make the neccesary arrangements.

thinking about setting up some ground rules - any suggestions?

At the moment there will be two groups:

Medium 2 Fast - ave of about 26-28km/h

Medium 2 Slower - ave of about 23-25km/h with lots of stops

the idea is that if there are slower guys starting at Andrag to stick together up to SW.
