I know names are shortened..ie, "Fanie" is short for "Stephanus"But there are some I just dont get...Frikkie? Wim/Wimpy?!Flip?Org?Koos? Tobie? Jampie?Sakkie?!Santie?Kallie? Surely these cant be names on their own? I'm just curious to know where they come from...And why is the 'Book of James' in the Bible called "Jacobus?"...Is 'James' non existent in the Afrikaans language?
