I want to ask all hubbers to use this thread to post details of trouble spots/ potential trouble spots as a heads up to others.

If we can prevent what happened to Mathilda, Fanie, Auctionlamb and several others in the last few weeks I believe we may have actually gotten something right.

Would it not help to have a seperate forum on the hub for this,...possibly called "Cycling Safty", could also serve to highlight high accident areas as well

What's wrong with "Cycling Trouble Spots"??? I think there are enough dangerous, crime potential areas where we all ride to justify a thread dedicated to the issue.

Coming out of the top gate at Northern Farm, turn right, go down the hill and start the long climb to Laezonia.

Where the small tar road meets the dirt, we had an incident there a few weeks ago and reportedly other riders as well.

Nothing wrong with "Cycling Trouble Spots" !!!!! Relax dude,  I just think it would be usefull if all the treads about Thot Spots, dangerous roads, etc etc where all in one place (forum). I think it's great idea to have a list like this I will definatly check through it if I go ride on an unfamilier route Clap

Details? Thanks for this, I use that route frequently on my own, never had an issue and always thought it safe enough.

Back to the sidearm then...

I'll be sure to put lots of smilies on my future posts.Smile Smile

No worries. I think the sad thing is that a list like this will basically have just about every place we ride on it. I can already add Deer park and all surrounding foothills on Table Mountain, Topside & Blackhill, Kalk bay, Silvermine and that's just the tip of the iceberg. I know of incidents at all of these venues. Smile

What p!sses me off even more is that In centurion there are spots where it has been known for bike-jackings for years. The cops know about it, yet nobody gets caught and no cyclists are safe.Smile

From Durbanville when riding to KILLARNEY through Du Noon. Avoid that section through the shacks even in peak hour traffic!!!!!!!
