I ordered a Tandem wheelset from St John Street Cycles in England (http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/ ) It will be 40 hole Shimano XT Wide Flange Tandem Hubs with 700c Sun Ringle Rhynolite rims......... Guest Big H Posted February 5, 2009 Share Sun Ringle rims, especially the Rhynolite and Mammoth rims are fairly bombproof and stong. The Rhynolite rims are a good choice for strong Tandem and Clydesdale wheels. They are not an option for weight weenies http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Images/Models/Full/1851.jpg We have Sun Ringle Mammoth rims on they MTB Tandem and they perform flawlessly. I think that www.chainreactioncycles.com even if you make up your own groupset will be cheaper as they offer the free shipping if your order goes over a certain amount. My shipping for the tandem wheels was GBP 95-00. A heck of a lot of money, but tandem wheels are hard to come by in RSA and my old set is starting to give the ghost.
