Your colon is not really needed either. You might just need to pay closer attention to you hydration strategy, but you can loose some 1.8meter of of semi-useless gut. Just think you get a free appendectomy thrown in with that! While the docs are in there, let them remove your spleen as well!

Just think, 1/2 liver, 1 kidney, 1.8 meter colon, spleen ... That must add up to quite a few KILOGRAMS!!!

I have a book on the history of the TdF and it talks about some Frenchman who amputated some of his toes to gain a weight advantage. Ridiculous.

mmm nope Id like to keep looking normal and have kids so Id have to keep my hair etc and my testicle' date=' anyone want to buy a kidney? LOL

Ok well lets say I spend between 2k to 6k, what could I do to the bike still?  Im thinking XTR deraillers and lighter fork, lighter cables (power cords?) lighter crankset, lighter brakes - allthough I really like the feel of the xt's.  id like to keep the chain and sprocket xt as its cheaper to replace than xtr, or are there light parts of a similiar price out there?

Any ideas?

I am also busy building up a mnt bike and wanting to make it as light as possible.....these power cords, where can i get them?

Do you have xt brakes as well? goodridge will be heavier than shimano.

- you can save some weight going for either hope mono mini pro's or some avid juicy ultimate's or magura martha's.

- Kcnc Road pro clamp is good option, i have one and are very happy with it.

- Xtr rear derailleur with kcnc pulleys, alloy cable pinch bolt, maybe xtr front also with alloy pinch and clamp bolts.

- alloy bolt for stem top cap.

- alloy bolts on bar clamp for shifters and brake levers.

- alloy cassette lock ring.

Thanks dan have been looking at the alligators, look sweet and I see there are now blue juicy ultimate brakes available, mmm right up my alley!

I am going to put the road lite clamp on just need to order it, as the other clamps (34.9) are too small, need the 35.6 it seems.

Will try to get xtr deraillers and a lighter crankset, any recommendations for the crankset?

Forks im looking at are the new SID, the R7 and the DT Swiss one.  Im worried about flex on the thins stanchions of the DT and the SID is not much lighter than my fox, so this leaves the R7, they weigh around1,3kg right? I need a 100mm.  Hows the performance and maintenance of this fork vs. the fox?  Aftersales service form the agents?

Thanks for the help

You wont be disappointed with the alligators. when fitted correctly they work great, and well sealed as well. but just a tip: get some heat shrink from an electronics shop and put some over the alligators, it will seal the outer and quiets them down as well, also it wont scratch you frame. its a very small weight for them as well, but improves them a lot.

Cranks? xtr is always a good option, shifts super. the fsa carbon one is also good. and then there is the new raceface dues carbon. depends on the money smiley36.gif

the dt fork is not worth it, too flexy, the sid is good, better than the old ones, the fox is a reliable option, my favourite. the manitou i cant say too much about very light indeed. they have always been good performers. and Cycles Africa, if thats still the agents, are top guys.
