Flowta Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Heard from Kath while on the way to varsity this morning that there was another accident involving cyclists. Kath was driving to work from Hout Bay towards Camps Bay, at Bakoven she had just passed 2 ladies on bikes (riding in single file) when a taxi tried to overtake her on a corner with a solid white line. A car came around the corner in the opposite direction so the taxi swerved back in right behind Kath, taking out before cyclists before ramping the pavement and passing Kath on her left. The taxi stopped a little further along, and the driver got out and run away. Looked like the one lady has a broken arm or collarbone. Kath and I ride that route quite often, it could have happened to us
Flowta Posted February 25, 2009 Author Posted February 25, 2009 From what I heard, they were moving around and obviously very sore. Police were on the scenes and the paramedics were on their way.

As far as I know he dissappeared into the bush.The cops are on the scene and have the keys to the taxi.

pedal Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Not nice to hear, hope they are ok and recover quickly. Again on Otto Duplessis to day, we had such friendly drivers, taxi's, trucks and motorists. Thanks we much, we really respect this friendship.Makes for a far safer training ride.
