This is a review for the Plant-X Superlight Team saddle that I got from Kiwi for R310. It can be ordered here. Planet-X Superlight Team

My behind is extremely finicky. After riding a heavily padded Sella Italia XO for year I decided to change to something more ?racy?. That is where all the problems started. Firstly, all those saddles have very little padding even if it says it?s got extra padding. Secondly, they are expensive. And thirdly, there are no shops that are willing to lend you one to try out and keep on trying out until you find the right one. It?s a lengthy project and I don?t think they will let you borrow 3-4 saddle for 3 weeks at a time.

I?ve tried the light XPs from Selle Italia, then I tried a Fizik Arione and finally a Fizik Aliente. That one was the best and realised that the best saddles for me are the spoon shaped ones. I rode that one for about a year.

Then Kiwi came and advertised his Superlights. I thought for R300 I should give it a try and if I don?t like it, I should be able to sell it on quite easily. He was so kind to lend a brand new one to me to try out. This way if I liked it, I could just pay him and don?t have to meet him again and exchange for a new one and then fiddle on the bike again to get it in the right place.

Well the test went as follows. Before I fitted it I weighed it and it tipped the scale at 259gr. That is just a tad under the claimed weight of 260gr. I went out on a 60km ride and was changing the saddle?s position every 30 minutes. I just could not get comfortable. Two weeks later I went out again and found the sweet spot when I tilted the nose up just a bit. This saddle is not as flat as the Arione seeing that it looks like one. It does have a spoon shape and that is why the nose needs to be raised a bit.

Well this weekend I did 150km on it and I found it extremely comfortable and doubt I will find anything better even at 5 times the price.

I will be ordering another for just in case. I would hate to go through the whole exercise of finding a saddle again.

Thanks Kiwi for a great product and great service. I'll be contacting you to hold another one for me.

I got one 2 weeks ago. Have to say, Its surpassed what I expected from a R300  seat in every way. From built quality point of view.. Anyway

Performance wise, Im still getting uset to it, Also trying to find the sweet spot  but I have to say Its already better than my old seat. one with the hole in the middle.

I would say very very worth it.

I ordered one of these purely because it is only R300 for what looks like a great saddle an on the basis of the fantastic Planet-X stem I bought for just R254...looking forward to receiving it..

Fantastic saddles.  I replaced my Gobi with one of these a couple of months ago, and the Sani2C was a completely painless (in that area anyway) experience.

2 thumbs up to Kiwi.

Bought one yesterday and put it on my hardtail. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Did a 1 hour morning commute this morning, on and off-road and am very impressed with the comfort and build, I took Mampara's advice and put it slightly nose up.

Look forward to seeing how comfortable it is on a 3-4 hour ride.

Hi Guys, <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Thanks for the great feed back!

We have some On One mountain bike saddles on the way too. The On One Big Nose I have been using a sample of a long time now. Very comfy and is also a good TT/Tri saddle due to the soft wide nose section.

Also have a small number of the On One Inbredman saddles coming in too. I don't know what they are like, except that they are cool looking!

Last year at the argus expo I was brave enough to buy a polished carbon fiber saddle. Got it for only R500.

It only weighs in at 136 grams, but I do start cursing it on long rides.

One upside though is I get absolutely no chaff from it.

Just bruises from super long rides.

Oh well.
