So what are the generic rules when it comes to Bling-ing your bike?

what needs to be colour coordinated, where do you add more colour and what is just uncalled for?

Road or mountain?

Road bling should either be subtle (colour co ordinated saddle, tyres and or Hudz) or whole scale including custom anodized brake calipers, custom frame and the whole bolt kit) See Pantani's cervelo.

Mountain bike bling - there are no rules. Those were chucked out the window when purple anodized components became available.

BB, seat clamp, headset and lock-on grips needs to be the same colour. Then skewers and chainring bolts. Cable housing normally overdoes it.

this is where you all show your style failings (pantani, i'll handle this one). the blingest thing on a bicycle has to be its rider...you have to be pimp to carry off bling. plain. simple. you wiggas don't stand a chance.

never heard of ghetto bling?

No. But then again, I'd never heard of a wigga before either. Of course I am quite happily white, so I don't need to pretend I'm not...

you've never heard of wigga, yet you mention your skin colour in the next sentence. your words betray you...
