hardly ever, I used it in Sabie, climbing bout 30 kms( day 2), but I ran a softer fork to save the hands on the rough stuff...

Thats the only time..I can remember, had it for 2 years now...

It gets used by the people that stand while pedaling. This was pointed out to me as a big no-no on a MTB.

WTF? I've stooden and pedaled and not use lockout. Silly mtbers and their silly list of do's and don'ts.... twits.

Nice for long fire road climbs - maybe more important if you are racing.

or when you stand and climb Embarrassed

Or sprinting for the finish line?

Have to admit, I always thought of it as just another gimmick until I got a bike with lockout.

Used it a couple of times, especially on longish climbs, suppose it also depends on what you're going to on the bike.

If it's downhills and technical stuff for example, then no.

But if you do a lot of trail riding and marathon stuff, then it's more likely you'd use it. Especially in Joburg area on those long winding dirtroads.

I seldom use it' date=' worried that one day I will forget to unlock when going back onto rougher terrain and see my @ss.[/quote']

I have used it on a few occasions but have also forgotten to unlock once or twice ..........

As a rule I don't bother to unlock it, don't find that it's an issue with my fine smooth riding style LOL
