Damn... boven had been my secret for many years' date=' Boven is a climbing mecca as well thanks mostly to Gustav from Roc 'n Rope. Always took my bike with me when we went climbing there.[/quote']

met him and his wife, alex. my kids were having a ball with her son!

bustthesickness, i'll be up for a trip. be sure to tell me when you go!

Yup, I love those guys man. Totally some of the best people out there. We've been going to boven since we were kids. Hugely into rock climbing for years and years and then rode bikes there mostly thanks to Glenn and his passion for the sport.

I need to plan a trip there soonest eh. I keep hearing stories of new developments going down there, new skills stuff going up and there are a few wooden fence crossings I'm keen to try out. Hopefully there are no LAME 3 meter wide rivier crossings eh Wink, else I might need to pack some Immodiums. But yeah, I'll drop you a pm when my trip is planned. I'm hoping there is going to be a "Dirt-Fest" at boven some time too...(hint hint)

Yeeehaaa,

What an awesome weekend I had. Meeting like minded people, Parking off next to the camp fire with a glass of fermented grape juice  and not to mention the cool riding.

Thanks to Glenn and Albert for organising the weekend.

It was a pleasure meeting you all. Hope you'll join us there on a regular basis.

Now if only the muscles would loosen up!!!!! Damn I'm stiff!!!!

The best single track is the one closest to home. By home I mean within riding distance... Rietvlei get's my vote Big%20smileBig%20smileBig%20smile

the best single track is the last one that you rode.

which right now for me, is the bits from the chicken pie farm to hartbeespoort - pulse-raising technical climbs, hair-raising technical(ish) downhills, and lots of fun bits between - yum!

  • 7 years later...

Rode @ Van Gaalens on Sunday. Was blown away by the trail and the condition of the trails. Hadn't been there in over a year.

Was a memorable day on the bike. We had to cut it short as one of the guys taco'd a wheel on one of the rocks on the Tant Miems section, about 10kms in, but we still did Dagga Pad and the river section. 35kms give or take, of flowing single track mostly.

Highly recommended it to anybody in the area.

Not sure if it's been mentioned. But the Grotto and Trilby trails at All out Adventures are also supreme. Northern Drakensberg
