Mother Goose Posted June 1, 2009 Author Posted June 1, 2009 OOPSS Sorry.......Provisional........I rode bits and pices on Sunday and I think that race is going to be EPIC!!! Angle grinder is going to SUCK after lap 4 and that is if you dont kill yourself in Dropzone because you are so tired you cant judge your speed properly for that drop!!!
Tumbleweed Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 from geoff the aussie: Bardy the Action Scribe from TREAD magazine (more about that just now) was heard to comment after spending some time on the course, "Those that start too fast will definitely pay later" and even Sean from Adidas said after doing a lap with me (my best was 21:34 whilst my lungs were draped over the top tube to stop bits of gravel getting stuck in them as they dragged behind me) that the course was easy at about 80% max but when he did two laps on his own at near 100% (19:23 per lap) that he started to make stupid mistakes and couldn't get up the steep climbs.
markStockton Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Expect back markers to play a major role. If you get hooked up behind a back marker near the start of angle / organ / whatever grinder, you can expect a minute plus lead to be wiped out easily. I'm definitly going to be there to watch, but I think one of the best spectator spots will be sitting just outside the fence on main road.
