What type of bottle cages?

Recommended Posts

I have only one Bottle cage on my Bike, so It better be good. Mine takes 1L bottles as well as normal( It doesnt have the lip at the top) and I have never lost bottles. A one L bottle filled to the top is heavy and only sits in the cage about halfway but the design is good so the bottle is "pinched" when it is pulled out in any way but straight to the top, but its stil very easy to get in and out.

I find those Wire cages like someone posted above doesnt work, with ful bottles they flex to much. you need something like the first Spez posted or this one like mine, as long as the shape is right Its cool. The one Mamparra posted Should also work.

I cant even remember what mine is..

I have the el-cheapo wired ones on the MTB and have not lost a bottle yet. I use the Rav-X plastic cages on the road bike and have not lost a bottle yet (For me it is easier to get the bottles in and out with the plastic ones)

Only problem is that some bottles don't re-inflate after squeezing the water out... need to bite the valve so it can pop out otherwise the bottle does not want to stay in the cage

Rav X plastic cages - cheap, pretty, and they work.

Also had the old type Specialized cages with no problems.

Been using metal cheap one?s for ages - I bend them till the bottle sticks. The resulting scuff marks on the bottle complements the bike?s.

Got a Merida carbon one with the bike sometime ago - agree with the guy above: it works very well (some rubber thingy attached to top bolt).
