Brandonmtb Posted June 3, 2009 Share Hi Guys.. I am the team captian of the DCM Chrome... Please guys this team is the best team in the country. All the riders have been paid on time every time I have never ever even had a late payment. Ian is the only person in the whole of SA that is reaching into his pocket to support us on every level.. There is no marketing benefit of him sponsoring the team thats what makes this situation even more special. Please guys all I can say is that you are playing with our lives you guys make really harse accusations.. But you still go back to work on Monday and your jobs are secure. I have a wife and two daughters and my job and life rely on individuals like Ian. Its not like we have 5 of these people even to take his place. There are reasons why these guys have not been paid and I dont believe it has anything to do with any of us.. Just trust me there are two sides to every story... Ultimately, and I'd hate to say this, but it seems that this matter may not rest with just your input. It will escalate given half a chance. I've seen the bike shop price fixing saga thread escalate to the point where it came out in the national media .. but this had it's merits. Ian needs to sort this matter out with the other party [who posted his grievances on the Hub] pronto. Maybe Ian needs a soapbox moment on the Hub too .. or just a statement from him. DCM Chrome really employs alot of people.. Of course their are going to be hicups now and then.. I dont think any of us should be discussing somebody elses private matters. Oh, and dont assume that outside of the cycling world our jobs are rosy and secure and that we all doddle to work on a Monday and everything is peachy. Don't get me wrong, I applaud what DCM Chrome are doing for our sport but as you say these things get complicated and there are many sides to a story. Good luck with the rest of your guys season. I think very few folks jobs are secure in this economic climate - just yesterday I popped in to see a client in a huge multinational company we work with and he was gone, retrenched with a few months pay on 31 May.
