Francois is not a happy chappy today.. he's in alot of pain with hot and cold spells. He was coming down the trail and through a bushy area when suddenly there was no trail annymore, just a 3meter deep ravine. He was airbourne for about 10meters before hitting the ground.

His bottom lip was torn off on the inside. That has been stiched up and is looking good. He has also severely broken left elbow and will undergo an operation on Friday to insert pinns.

As far as his broken C5 vertebrae is concerned, he is in traction to keep his neck as still as possible.. although that will be difficult, he is quite an annimate talker.. Luckily the spinal cord and neurological functions are in tackt.

He will have to remain immobilised for about two months and then the rehab starts.

What a lucky, lucky guy!!

Phew, I am speechless...... Only heard about WW this afternoon....

My thoughts and prayers are with you WW.... Speedy recovery, and you know you can do it......

Natasha, may you find strengh from all your friends, and I know that you will be able to cope, as you are a very strong person. Love to your children as well, as this must be very hard or them.

Riaan, what a lucky family to have you and your wife as friends.... I can certainly vouch for you, and no-one  needs to worry about the account name or  funds. My deposit on the way soon.

Please continue to keep us informed.

Regards and love

I'm sure most of the Worcester Wheelers club members are aware of Francois's medical fund but we need to make sure everyone knows about it. I'm convinced if we all make a contribution we can easily cover his expenses over the next few months. Remember Francois emails us daily - surely we can access his list. Its not for the family to ask but for us to offer. He needs our help now big time, shot Riaan, you are a star!

Just an update on how things are go?ng. Last night and today hasn't been good. He was in a lot of pain and discomfort. He aparently did not like the nurse feeding him (or maybe the foodWink), because he hit her hand away.

The dr. also isn't happy with him not getting enough rest - so he is now being kept mostly sedated.

Thank you Sharon(Pedal) for the kind words, one only give what you receive in friendship. You asked about the children. According to Natasha Juarnett would talk to Francois, but was scared to get to close. Jarrett was struggeling to come to terms with state that Francois was in. It is emotionally and physically challenging for Natasha. Thankfully Piet and Martinette (fantastic friends and support to Francois and Natasha) is there to help with the children and other support. They are doing more than anyone can think. And then there is Hazel (Natasha's mother), Charl (Francois brother), Marshall (in the shop), Andrew and Mercia , Flip Piek (from Worcester Wheelers), Myles (who was at Francois side when he crashed) and everyone that has prayed, sent a message, offered to help and made any contribution (dankie BigH in Ondjiva)... this is what friendship is about, and these are the stars... (thanks Olive Boy)
