More likely to get nicked if it looks to good...

Riser bars are meant to make riding steep, technical downhills easier. If you can manage with a flatbar or if you dont ride that kinda stuff and are comfortable with a flatbar th?n why have a riser?

Conversely, if you have a riser and it works on the bike and in the places you ride, can you just use that?

If it works dont mess with it, not even for the fashion police

My point was to mention that riser bars are their for a reason, just like flat bars and it's got zot to do with fashion and what looks good.

Good. I understand that each has a purpose, but I tried both on my new bike, and I am more comfortable and feel more stable with the riser.

Thats what riser bars do, i also went to a riser bar after many years with flatbars. TBH did not notice much diffs in handling but was more comfortable for my back (no more room for spacers under my stem) but also found with risers that my hands get sore quicker.

Maybe I'll try some barends for an extra option...

@ Mulebar, thanks!

@Swissvan, I do ride that kinda stuff and I don't have an issue riding anything. I used to DH a bit and still have the skills, I have to remind myself I'm on a carbon HT and not a DH rig LOL

I will only use it if it works...if it looks good too then even better.

Oh, I have bar ends on mine, they are awesome. for me, the difference in comfort and control is massive.

mm, There are better looking Riserbars then those Tarmac. I prefer the ones that have slightly lower rise and a more gradual curve take a look at these.. not bad huh..

Very Nice Bos, it looks like those will be more roomy for the controls too.

It's not that I want a riser, I'm happy with the flatbar, I rode it last night. I have gone from Anthem with riser to HT with riser, to HT with Flat back to riser, and now flat again...

I think the flat works best for me, suits the HT and now that it's anodised, looks cool too.

luckily you're not throwing a garmin and a remote lock-out on thereLOL

The only other bit that goes on there is my Sigma Karma Pro.

But that 's nice and little.

cool lightThumbs%20Upgetting one too to add to my rider bars with cane creek bar ends and black box remoteWinkluckily it's a standard barLOL

You wont be dissapointed in the Sigma Karma.

The battery lasts a long time, and is so small and compact for a seriously bright light for it's size. Mine out shines some big rigs, and I can use it on my road and MTB. Takes about 15secs to mount! It's bright enough to ride any singletrack and fly downhill in the dark.

I have a carbon HT and although it's close to being a sin I have a Guizzo Carbon Handlebar fitted that has a slight rise' date=' maybe only 20mm but still a rise, and an Oxygen Alu Flatbar.Carbon bar has some red in it that matches my bike.I also have a Alu flat bar, more boring looking but narrower and lighter.Riser: Pros: Good looks, vibration damping of carbon.Cons: Weight but not heavy at 173g, Rise on a race bike, limited room for controls. Bit wide.Flat:Pros: Weight, more space for controls, narrower.Cons: Looks bland, no viberation damping.I have a KCNC Stem and considered selling both and matching the stem and bars...I am unsure of what to do...

YO Bos - you would actually trust a plastic handle bar...

Dude you riding a SC Blur LT - riser bar, wide, all the way. Leverage man its all about leverage. And seeing the way you hop about on a trail you want stability in the air... I have a 725mm Race Face and its great. Trying a 750mm Funn Full On bar tomorrow, but I think it might take my little fingers off on the nearest tree.

Tokia tomorrow if you want to help test ride....
