bd54 Posted June 29, 2009 Share Over the past few months I have bought a few boxes of various flavored WHASP gels only to find that most of the GELS have leaked inside the box , this causing waste to over the half of each BOX of GELS. I have complained to the guys @ WHASP & they said that they had a problem with the machine which seals the gels & the problem was now sorted out. They also said that they would send few complementary boxes of Gels for the inconvenience. On Friday I bought some more Gels as I still have not yet received the complementary GELS & GUESS what, they all leaked over my race bag & I had no Gels for the race on Saturday. The Gels are a great product if the doesn?t leak before you use them! BUT I would suggest anyone looking @ trying them out rather not waste you money buy something else unless you want your stuff covered in GEL. bd542009-06-29 06:44:59 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Li Mu Bai Posted June 29, 2009 Share The new system Whasp is using is the Gel is bought in a bottle, and then you decant whatever quantity you need into a small squeeze tube. It works really well, and has the upside that used sachet's are not littered all over the trail. you now can take in whatever amount you need in a swig and can ride without having to fiddle the 'tear tag' into a pocket (or drop it to the ground) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

bd54 Posted June 29, 2009 Share Then you limited to 1 type of Gel , I always use different flavors as they have different levels of caffeine. I will use they weaker gel @ the start of the race & towards the end I will use the Gels with higher levels of caffeine. I also prefer to split the gels into different pockets as when you mountain bike they jump all over the place if the in one pocket. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Before we got home two leaked onto our precription medicine (we normally buy for three months, so it was a mess) The other one started leaking before we went cycling so we decided to taste it. Berry or something...... absolutely repulsive taste!!!!!! I almost Luke'd from the taste!!!!!!!! I was glad when I found my old trustworthy USN Vooma in Peach nogal.
