GTfan Posted July 7, 2009 Share Had tire liners fitted on my old bike and touch wood, not one puncture, but for a change I'm thinking maybe slime, any advice??
Moab Posted July 7, 2009 Share I have ridden with slime for years now and touch my wooden head, no punctures. Apparently tubeless is the way to go - I have just converted so lets see.
gremlin Posted July 7, 2009 Share Use both, Liners and slime.

AndreZA Posted July 7, 2009 Share geez, overkill to use both. Just slime is enough.
Cassie Posted July 7, 2009 Share I agree...it's definately an overkill....one is enough..and slime is probably a bit lighter than liners. liners can also cause some uneven running of the tyre...feels like a hop....
Christopher Brunsdon Posted July 7, 2009 Share I run slime, but a neighbor runs liners on all his bikes. Swears by them and has never had preventative punctures. He gave up on tubeless for road after a couple of glass slashes. And as per brand, ok he is a component / accessories rep and will be bias towards his brand, but I agree on going for cheap (but not nasty) as you need to regularly replace them due to stretch.
RABUBI Posted July 7, 2009 Share tubeless. Â Can run your tyres at a lower pressure, with no chance of snakebites
Piernas Flacas Posted July 7, 2009 Share Just don't buy Element tyre liners. They start cracking after 3 months and will cut into your tubes.

Andyr249 Posted July 8, 2009 Share How effective is mtb tubeless? Do you get less punctures than with tubes and slime? Can you use a tube as a last resort if one uses the conversion?
