Hey guys

Got the hoses from crc, but the shop couldn't get them to fit, as the xt's have a bolt into which the hose goes and that goes into the caliper ( as I understand it)

Now after looking at the goodridge site, it seems that you need to cut off the bottom of the rubber coating thats on the metal sleeve of the hose too make it thinner so it can go into the hole of the bolt, which the shop didn't do.  So this together with the bigger diameter holed bolt they got from alligator should work?

Or is getting the frigging expensive goodridge fittings or other brakes my only option ?

Thanks,

WW.

Yes Weight Weenie. You must cut back the plastic coating.

I've also ordered Goodridge hoses from crc and should have

them in the next few days. I'm running avid but

they use the same bolt fitting as your xt's ie. no crimped fittings.

If you don't come right I'm sure we can work it out.

Hehe nope should be heavier' date=' BUT they are blue and don't expand so better braking performance which will save more time in the long run :) [/quote']

If you use the SHIMANO XTR/SAINT hose you save weight and get the same performance as a braided hose!

I've ordered 2 meters in RED. Just hope that 2m is enough

for both brakes.

I have red Braided Goodridge Hoses on the MTB Tandem. No problems in two years. I ordered the whole set of olives and other goodies for my Hope Disks.  I think your two Meters is too short. I also ordered mine too short and luckily I got from Anton at Cylce House on one of my visits to RSA. Had to run red and silver for a while.

WW ... if your bike shop are not technically competent to fit the hoses then maybe you should also be looking for a new LBS workshop.

Good Luck

I have been using Goodridge paired with XTR calipers and LX levers for the better part of 5 years.

My advice - go through the hassle of installation, you?ll not be sorry in the long run
