Tiny K Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 Got me a new 12-27 cassette at CWC yesterday (sorry Tank, you were not there, so Stephen got the sale) specially for this ride. Hopefully I will now climb better than with the 12-25. Suffered BIG TIME on Friday over Du Toits and Bains. Not gonna make a difference. It's the legs that need to get stronger

A 27 is easier to spin up a climb than a 25, so I think it will make a difference. I might not be able to chase you down up a climb, but I'll not be as "fatiqued", so I can can keep the pace that bit higher.

Went down Tiekiedraai, over Contermans, down Malanshoogte, turned around up Malans again, up Vissershok and Odendaal's. All at a very relaxed pace. New cassette definately helps, climbing is easier (not faster )See you guys tomorrow morning.Dommisse and Michael is NOT joining us.

I tried that 26 tooth I have on the back this morning - kept the cadence at 95 but damn was it slow Km/h wise. I went for a lekker 62Km spin (just under 2hrs) this morning, keeping the HR below 150bpm.... all went well until I got chased by two dogs - HR spiked into the 170's and that was then end of that. Only had about 6Km's to go so was OK. See you guys tomorrow.... btw what Chris is this? Chris Snr?

Nogal strange pedaling at a certain cadence, and not move at the speed you are used to. Will give the 27 a go tomorrow, but I find the ratio of the top three gears too wide ( 21/24/27) Must see if I can build a "hybrid" cassette out of the two. Possibly go 12/13/14/15/16/17/19 then jump 23/25/27
