Hey bikemonster, sorry I didn't stop to chat. At that point my legs were saat and tired and I was just not lus to ride anymore. Just before I saw you two, I had called my wife to pick me up. I thought that 'pale' body looked familiar (no offence to JP - but thats how I saw it :P ). Hope your ride was lekker. I saw loads of guys riding along the roads today.

I did do a 122.89Km ride at an average of 29.4Km/H (4 Hours 8 Minutes odd). Rode hard I guess. Problem is I did it alone so it gets boring and there is no one to gauge intensity with. My legs are aching from the ride.

Built wheels are great. Just waiting for the rim, that I bought, to arrive so I can sent it to be built and I can send the two already built wheels for straightening B)

Sirk was that you? You joined our group (5 guys). You turned off at Klipheuwel, at the Silos. Riding with a Second Skins shirt. Black arm warmers from First Ascent.

The guy that joined us from Klein Joostenburg to the turnoff had ABSA bibs on.

Nice ride indeed. 157km for me PLUS I even got a tan :D . No more white legs comments from Scotty & William

marius, considering we all had a fairly decent workout the day before :P , Sunday's ride was a good indicator of fitness levels for half the team at least.

for sure... and I had some practise fixing punctures :( But i'd rather use up my quota of punctures for the season now ;)

F R A I L... that wasn't SirK unfortunately... SirK has a classic Mercatone Uno Bianchi B)

Nah that wasn't me unfortunately F R A I L.... but I wasn't wearing my Mercatone top - I was wearing my king of the mountain polka dot jersey... claiming all the points for myself :D not as though I had any competition.

I did ride with a guy for a while who was going towards the silo's - maybe it was him? Dunno, but the dude said he prefers to ride in the heat of the day. How crazy is that?! The idea is generally on to start and finish while it is still cool - like on race day.....anyways - see you guys next weekend for the Engen race out my side of the world (Wellington) B)

Going to join you guys on Wednesday for a MTB ribe, went out today on the gravel with some mates for the first time and it was great did 92km. See you guys on wednesday, (I will be the small guy on the Jumbo)

Hey, saw you flying past me yesterday- you are definately "smaller" than the last time I saw you- looked like you were hammering it- poor blokes behind you were struggling to get your wheel.

bikemonster,

I am back in Mama Afrika from Wednesday.

Any 50 km rides on Thu or Fri morning with you and JP available?

On Fri we'll either ride out on Wellington and back, or we'll do "JP's route", which takes us over Vissershok, through CONTermanskloof, then right and on to Burgundy Estate, Plattekloof Rd then left onto Verwoerd over Stinkvingerbult and then Jip de Jager to Kenridge.

yah, I managed 38km/h into that wind on my own coming back from Stellies- you blokes must take it easy, why you always in such a hurry  Wife standing on the stoep waiting for you

Can I join too, please

Of course!

We'll be looking at riding at approx 28km/h ave, but we re-group at the tops of the hills (if we ride JP's route).

The reason I post my rides up here is that I figure riding alone is not safe...at the very minimum if you get into some trouble, having peeps around is a Good Thing.
