wouldnt you be pissed off if a guy who cheated starts in a better batch than you at the next race??

It's like entering a XC race, doing just 3 laps...then stop and say...yaaa, I changed my mind, I rather want to do the fun ride, not the elite. The organisers will laugh in your face..DNF dude!

Shame a kid that entered for the 30km did the 50km MTB this weekend at the cheese festival in george, the poor guy was finished. . .  mind you I was finished befrore the finshed. .

50km winning time was 2:20 something Matthys Beukes

I get really annoyed when they give medals to people that DNF and then the poor people who slaved away and really struggled get to the end and there are no medals left!

IMO if you enter the long route but change your mind and start and ride the shorter route its OK, but if you start with the longer route then change your mind and do the shorter one then either remove your chip or tell the orgs at the finish.

The long route normally starts the race before the short route right?

I know its like that in some of the local stuff I have done.

 

So if someone was to start the long and then decide to do the short they would have a good time advantage.
