I recently rebuilt my Moser with Campagnolo. A mix between Record and Croce D'Aune:

Gianni Bugno was world champ on one of these in 91. It also won the Giro. The team used Dura Ace though, not Campag.

No seat clamp. Seatpost has a quil, like a stem. Works really well.

8 Speed DT shifters. These can actually be upgraded to 10 speed with the TT shifter insert.

Jealous!!!!

All the talk of Italian bikes has got me thinking very expensive thoughts!

Let me post something British then:

Hetchins Magnum Opus. Looks ancient but is actually the newest frame I own. Made in 1999.

Equipped with full Dura Ace from the mid 80's, including stem and seatpost.

Those names too!!!

Is that a Giro D'Italia bar? Just put one on my DuToit. Love 'em!

Took the manky new Pro bars off and cut the stem down to its correct length for the headset.

Will post pics soon.

Yes, they are Giro's, my favourite bar too. I've collected a few sets over the years. Cinelli are making them again I see.

Java those Delta's make a huge difference. That Moser is gorgeous. Cinelli are making quill stems as well again. They are 26mm to fit the Giro's. I see that CRC has some red Look classics as well if anyone looking for pedals from the 80's to 90's. What are the afficiando's thoughts on fitting one of these Italian ladies with Campag's Athena 11's groupset. Its all alu for that retro look. Blasphemous or acceptable?

100% acceptable in my opinion, especially if you want to ride it often. The problem with the old stuff is that its hard and expensive to maintain. Those white brake hoods on the Moser go for R1000 on eBay. Really ridiculous.

Here's my Merckx with new Ultra Torque cranks. It doesn't look too bad I don't think. I wouldn't mind upgrading this one to new Athena.:
