Also looking for parts. Also missing original "Bianchi" crankset, hubs, bars, stem etc. Don't think I will find them any time soon. I have got a Magistroni cottered crank and Gnutti chain rings (Period). I do have the original Bianchi cottered axel thankfully.

Browse a little on e-bay.......you might just find what you are looking for sooner than you think.......for more money than you think possible. I hate buying stuff on e-bay, but for the rarer hens' teeth, sometimes that seems the only way.

Found an old Hansom bike that someone converted into a commuter with heavy wheels. Frame still in pretty good condition. Stripped and ready to be restored to one of Oom Gotty's time pieces.post-51655-0-62529000-1430125447_thumb.jpgpost-51655-0-17700900-1430125470_thumb.jpg

Would there be any objections to me posting some pics of my track bikes under this thread?

Please share those pics. We should share more and build up our own database. When one look online for information on old and vintage bikes it is mainly from the UK or USA.

The only other place the boss lady of the house allows my stand is in the garage. The one on the photo is for stripping and cleaning.

Love those old English track bikes. As a kid in the 80s I had an old chrome plated Carlton with Record kit. Even back then it was considered quite old.

There was a chrome Carlton for sale in Johannesburg a few weeks ago and I was keen to buy it but pushed for funds for another project at the time.

Hi Guys,

We are going to have a classic bicycle ride in The Cradle on Friday, starting at Something Country at 7.30. We will decide on the route on the day.

Bring friends/family/other riders bikes, parts, etc and after the ride we can have breakfast.

See you there
