The Saint Posted April 28, 2007 Share How does Cajees rate in your opinion?There is a store literally 100 meters from where I work, the service is shocking to say the least, the staff kind off just sit and look at you or totally ignore you whilst walking around the store. On the odd occasion that somebody does arrive to help you the negotiations begin and man have I got some good bargains to coin a phrase. What makes these guys so cheap or allows them to discount so much? I understand that the advertised price is jacked to the limit but after the discount is offered I still cannot find a better price anywhere. Also very often upon buying a fairly expensive item I have also been offered a free gift to the value of R200. Not sure which other LBS does this? However I have to say I hate to give these guys cash as their service is so ****, but if I save R1000 on a bike I can hang around for a bit or go get the bike off the rack myself. If you have made up your mind already and know what you want then get it from them cheaper. But if not sure, they will try sell you a R30 000 bike when a far cheaper one would do. If they were intentionally delivering this saving to the consumer they would not be marking thier stuff up by 200% and then ripping off the poor guy who knows nothing about cycling and pays their advertised price. Turk182 Posted April 28, 2007 Share no seriously i was quoted R26K at the time for a colnago frame and fork, i managed to get it on sale for around 14k, the record group came to about 8k and willie wanted 15k so it really was way cheaper but i would like to support my LBS but i get this sick feeling followed by rage when they quote me...... They offer 20% off on gruppos without you asking & then their initial price was market-related to begin with. Also don't make you feel like they're doing you a favour by giving you the discount.I have a couple of good-service-stories about Cajees (4-ways), so don't write them off completely... Muxie, maybe I said it wrong. If you want cheap stuff and not too worried about service, go to Cajees. If you want great service and a great mechanic but equipment prices are average, support your LBS. The workshop giving a great service and charging for it. The bike shop selling you equipment for cheap. Then you dont have to feel bad buying at one place and servicing at another. The best deal I'm seen from them last week was a Fuji Roubaix Ltd with DA group, Shimano 600 wheels, FSA cranks and Cane creek brake calipers for R15000.
