Matchstix Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 The guys that ride right front comes from the motorbike configuration. I ride front left. . I know when I am on a motorbike and when I am on my bicycle.
TNT1 Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 The guys that ride right front comes from the motorbike configuration. Not necessarily. Right front is a old school thing. It's how the pros in Europe started riding in the beginning of the sport.

Bos Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 The guys that ride right front comes from the motorbike configuration.I ride front left. . I know when I am on a motorbike and when I am on my bicycle. I never rode a Motorbike till when I was 17 and I started riding Mtb at about 14. I think I saw some pro's do it and decided to try it. I cant swop Its to deep in my DNA now. not that I'd want to. Was it Shawn palmer? cant remember..

Underachiever Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Road Bike: Left = Front Started like that in the 80's and always used the front brake as the main stopping force MTB: Left = Back Move to MTBking 2 years ago and immediately swopped the brakes to be the same that my Road Bike. NOT A GOOD IDEA, for obvious reasons!!

BUT MTB front brake as main braking force = ENDO
TNT1 Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 weird. I know how to modulate the amount of pressure I apply with the front brake...I only do stoppies on demand... same as on the motard.
AndreZA Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 everything on the left is for the front and everything on the right is for the back.
TNOSE_E Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Always start controled braking with the front then backup with the back brake having shifted weight to the rear.
TNT1 Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Always start controled braking with the front then backup with the back brake having shifted weight to the rear. I think it is the control part some of the guys seem to have a problem with
TNOSE_E Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 I am right handed and like to have the most front brake control there! my left is a bit doff......
Bos Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Funny, such a cliche in biking, grabbing front brake and going over.. If you know how to position your body when going downhill you can lock your front wheel without going over..
Underachiever Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 I would guess my PID control loop needs tuning!!Especially when MTBking.
