We have built a pump track where part of parking lot was. Much better use of the space Wink

If you're not sure what a "pump track" is, do some Youtube searches and you'll get a good idea. Basically, it's a small track consisting of berms and rollers. It's designed for zero pedaling... just use of skill to build up and maintain speed. But most importantly to have FUN! The nice thing is that you can use almost any bike on it. MTB jump bikes and BMX's are the most efficient.

We plan on having a small race series at the track, with prizes and all that jazz! Good times!

NSRMTB posted some pics and small write up, check it out here: http://www.nsrmtb.co.za

Dude, that track is awesome! Thanks for insisting that I try it on your bike today. I've been having fantasies of building a pump track in our spare room all day!

Maybe I can bring the GT around tomorrow so I can play on the bike I'm used to. I'd be dead keen for a pump-track race series!

Yeah Hog, it's so much fun! My commuter/XC/hack bike sure isn't the perfect bike! But at least you get the idea.

Pull in tomorrow and have a sesh! If you do, pls bring that seat post Wink

The "race series" is gonna be serious fun! Big%20smile

Today's session was fun! I think my longest run was 5 laps, and I was pretty dead.

This track flows really well, and is a great example of what a pump track should be. I think the team did a great job and I know I'll spend much more time there.

Well done guys!

So where must I park my car nowCry

Just put it right next to the track. I could use something to break my fall when I overcook it in the top berm.

There's still plenty of parking Wink

There's now a short video on http://www.nsrmtb.co.za/ Smile

Mike and Gail are doing Cycle Mashatu in Botswana this weekend, so the shop will be closed from Friday to Tuesday. But I'll be there doing more work on the track. We're going to smooth out some of the small bumps that have developed. A new technical line will be added too Big%20smile

What's the set-up with the pump track outside Mike's Bikes? Can you just turn up and ride is it only open at certain times, do you have to pay?

Any info would be great.
