Piernas Flacas Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Guys, in need your help with this. It's giving me sleepless nights
Tumbleweed Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Married one actually. during nine years of marriage, my wife got on a bike, i think, three times. now that we're divorced, she rides more than i do!
Capricorn Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 me (you) or the bike? hehehe... we all know the answer to that
Ysterman Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 ... Also thought about this ... my conclusion is that its better to date a non cyclist ( for me ) Reason is - I cycle to relax, get away from it all, or pedal myself to death to get rid of frustration, talk sh$t to my buddies for hours, discuss girls ..., marriage issues, sex problems or the lack of it ... If she wants to come along, I cant do that anymore

Guest Agteros Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 As long as she understands how you feel about cycling, and what it means to you (relaxation, getting away/out). Willingness from her to accommodate this is more important than her being a cyclist. Although it could affect the type of holidays you pick in future
Spinnekop Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Also married one. She now regularly rides MTB with me!
Flemish Lion Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 I'm in the same boat - introduced her (my then GF, now wife) to cycling and she's starting to kick my butt more often than I'd like to admit
Dirt*girl™ Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Who cares, as long as he/she supports you in what you love to do....isn't that more important? Dirt*girl2009-10-12 00:44:12
ASTANA Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 I think if you have a competitive personality its not a good idea to do the same sport as your GF or wive. Know a lot of examples where couples really gave each other hell through this. but then again - if you ride with a group and there are other girls / ladies in that training group than this can also lead to other difficult problems with the GF / wive. This is one one the reason why some woman start cycling - to check up on their other half's. This will only be a problem when it a cruise group ride on weekends etc. Don't think it will be much of a problem for our "younger" guys who are more keen to race in group rides and thus not giving much time to "bond" with the other genders in the group - if there is any.
