And?? Have you felt it? swissfans advice sounds good? If that is a crack then Its almost all the way trough.. so It should leave a crease.. or white line if its been flexing on it.

One more test.. bul back brake and rock it back and forth with one hand on the crack.. LOL

If its bust if it flex's there.

Thanx Swissvan for the advice

i did the finger pressure test - no flexing (thats a relieve), but if i scratch over it with my nail i can definitely feel a 'crack'

i did the coin tap, test, but seeing thats there is a 'crack' on both sides, its not real usefull

i went to the bikeshop, who in turn called in a accesor, who had a look. initial reaction were that it might only be the clear coat they apply over the carbon.

he took some photos and would have send it to the distrubutor.

im awaiting feedback, but it doesnt sound like its that serious - real happy 'bout that!!!

quickdraw, were did you do your x-rays? it almost makes more sense to do something like this, then just for one or two people to have a look at the frame!

Giant had letter that they send to shops where they stated that hairline cracks around the BB was just the paint cracking and not the carbon.

If that is the case, then just sand it down a bit, get some clear spraypaint and paint it again in thin layers. Polish it afterwards.

Howdy, wife knew somebody in Radiology department. Could ask a vet?

I guess you would have some sense of relief if the distributor says it is nothing to worry about - only if they give a valid reason (wrapped at that point, etc)

I would still always have doubts in my mind - the cracks could be super fine and you would not be able to tell other than x-raying.

Not to knock any distributor but they could easily say it is fine in a hope that it survives till past the warranty date.
