Sweet bike Anton - give us a review on the new wheels - I'm keen to purchase some.... 1650g per pair I believe and rather cost effective!

I rode with the wheels this morning, they are incredibly stiff and feel very, very smooth.

They also took nicely to the tubeless conversion with no pressure loss since yesterday lunch time.

I like the fact that spokes can be obtained almost anywhere .

Really nice set of wheels and a very nice upgrade from the Bontragers.

I think they are a bargain at the price.

They feel very solid and as I said, they are really, really stiff.

Can someone explain steel versus alu versus carbon...is steel lighter, cheaper stiffer etc.

And why are there not more steel bikes around, or are there?

Thanks

lighter? - no

cheaper? - not anymore

stiffer? - nope

but I'd chose reynolds 853 over carbon or alloy any day.

Thanks for the review!

Methinks the white wheels and some other white accents on Kermit would be rather tasty!

@Iron - Coolheat's latest shipment of Niner's has either arrived or will arrive soon - latest I heard was they were in Durban waiting to clear customs. Best you get in soon though - most of them are already booked! I have the Air 9 - magic bike. There is a One 9 in the shipment for me - naked silver mmmmm....

Anton, awesome ride dude, like i said before, this is one bike you will always have in your arsenal. The spaz's will come and go, but this one you will always want to keep!! Looks sweet with the white wheels, what is the total weight now? Congrats again, many happy (s)miles!

@Eldron I have just heard the One9 is allergic to alfine hubs and can only run pure single speed, awesome news and good choice again!!!! now all you need is a rigid fork and hairy legs!

Well said Rock.

Thanks Grant, I agree with you, this bike will stay with me, it took me all of 10 years to decide on a steel frame, I am pretty fussy that way.

Thanks for the compliments, perhaps we could ride these bikes at Solo 24 hour champs at 70 years of age.
