what you guys and gals think?

Geewiz Brussel, I gave you a HR for free( which you so kindly passes on to someone that needed it ) about a year ago without a pic and you did'nt complain about that ! I battled like hell to load pic her in the beginning,and most probably would still have been if it was not for a fellow hubber (ZASKAR)to assist me. I would be the first one to say I am a computer(kemputer) morone, but there's is other stuff I think I can do quite well, that other hubbers might not be able to do. Maybe we should help the okes that battle(like I was) to load pics.

Just my very humble opinion on this little issue.

OK so I don't know who runs this site' date=' but I have an idea, that IMHO is a good one. Make it mandatory for a 'For Sale' posting to have a picture attached...ie. unless you actually load a picture of the item you cannot place the ad.

<rant on>

I am sick and tired of idiots who try to sell stuff with no picture. And even more sick and tired of people who are computer illiterate enough not to know how to resize a picture...USE GOOGLE YOU MORONS! smiley7.gif

<rant off>

Kewl, so we have to post a picture of ANYTHING, coz how will the site confirm that the pic is relevant and accurate to the items for sale?

problem solved by adding a smileyStar

Easy, hey?

Why is it such a mission to load pics on this site ?

Everyday somebody is complaining that they can't load pictures.

If you place an ad on Gumtree or Junkmail, the pictires loads perfectly everytime.

Well we have the limit of 100kb, which is a little ridiculous. no camera takes pictures that small anymore. and to people who are not that computer litrate, it isnt always easy to resize a picture to 100kb. plus with most resizers, they only allow you to select a resolution, as apposed to a size in KB or MB. so for the average user, they will try resize, then upload again and then they wont be able to because they didnt select a small enough res then they'll just give up and say "they cant upload" I dont think there is an actual problem in the uploading process. just people who are unsure of what they are doing and dont understand

Software need to be installed on the server to auto-resize the pic if over a certain size/dimension. Dunno if the Web Wiz Forum software supports this though...

Wow..I leave the computer for two hours and there are this many replies! Don't drink beer unfortunately TNT, but I am feeling more relaxed now smiley2.gif

Seriously though obviously the system cannot check whether the picture is relevant or not, it would be helpful...smileys don't count as pics - they are embedded HTML.

Fair enough photo editing software does let you choose resolution and that is not always indicative of final size, but for the most part 640x480 comes in under 100k

It's seems though half the for sale ads don't have pictures and everyone berates the person, but no one really learns...next day same story with other hubbers?!?

Anyhow enough chit-chat, have a good weekend hubbers smiley4.gif
