someone living in polokwane who wants to watch a world cup match....?

of sorry it was a rhetorical question..

Most residents of Polokwane cannot afford the ticket costs to start with, the idea is to get outsiders in to watch boosting toursim and local business. According to weekend newsaper lot of foreign tourists will base themselves in Jhb/PTA  and travel to games even those held in Durban.

My standard response to these a-holes is;

"When did ignorance become a point of view"

that usually shuts them up pretty quickly.

Thanks Scott Adams...

I see some rocket scientist overseas finally figured out why S Africans were not buying tickets.

Fill in a form or do it on the net. Seems that many people here do not even know what the internet may be let alone have access. As for the forms at fnb - well that seems like effort.

Great idea HR extremly difficult to implement as how do you determine who'a a poor local and who's not, soccer games are poorly attended as is. Also finacially the less the ticket costs the more the expensive the stadium was to build, post 2010 what will happen to this stadium other than be a venue for some future ANC rally.

let's see:

RWC 1995: huge success - heck they even made a movie about it.

CWC 2003: huge success - ok' date=' the slow draft taps at wanderes were a pain.

mtb WC 2009: huge success - best event i've ever attended.

i reckon they can pull it off.

so... i just went to go look at tickets. As south africans we have exclusive rights to the crap cheap tickets behind the goalposts. I can therefore apply for a ticket behind the goalposts to watch brazil vs portugal in durban for R140!

its cheap....but can you imagine the noise. The majority of the vuvuzelas will be concentrated in one location!

Hahaha, thanks for that! But ja, I knew about it, me being a cyclist and all, but how many other people knew about it? It was not a very high profile event, and although I don't know the numbers, I'm sure there weren't millions of people descending on Pmb? The SWC is a different ballgame...
