Guest Iron Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />From experience and not hearsay what is the better tubeless option to go for , Stan?s no tubes or Joe?s. And why ? Iron2010-01-20 02:32:11
Sammajoor Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 You forgot the cheap local one that the bike shops do.......... Local is lekker
trailrider Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 The best from experience is BigBen's ghetto version. I use Stan's after reading of some delamination with some of the other products. https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=24545&KW=ghetto&PN=1 Works a charm on my MountainKings
Cassie Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 You forgot the cheap local one that the bike shops do.......... Local is lekker Yip, as good as the other two...and local is lekker!!!
NotSoBigBen Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Out of those 2 I reckon the Stans strips are a slightly better quality than the Joes but hey no scientific basis just some experience with both types of conversions prior to now using ghetto exclusively!
Weight Weenie Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 How bout the stans yellow tape and a tubeless valve, or does that only work with stans rims ? Seems a lot scheaper, easier, hassle free and easy to remove when inserting a tube...
Guest Iron Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Was mainly looking at Stans and joes to see what guys think is best , thanks for the input . ( Stans seems to be popular )<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />Have not heard too much about the local one and can?t seem to find much info on Ghetto.
dirtrider Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Ghetto is something BigBen came up years ago . You will most probably only find reference to it on the Hub .
Weight Weenie Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 What would the criteria be for it to fit dirt ? And do you perhaps know if any of the shops in pta have it ?
Wallee Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Look here for info on going "Ghetto": https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=24545&KW=tubeless I have done this on about 5 sets of wheels with absolutely no problems. I do the "skinny" version, where you cut the BMX tube into a thin strip, resembling a normal rim strip.Wallee2010-01-21 05:13:55
